Adrian Morning Rotary hosts delegation from Azerbaijan

The Open World Leadership Center, an agency of the U.S. Congress, will send a delegation from Azerbaijan to Adrian, Michigan on Friday, October 11. The delegation consists of six professionals and will be accompanied by a bicultural facilitator and an interpreter. While in Adrian, the Open World program participants will be hosted by members of Adrian Morning Rotary.

Prior to their arrival, the participants completed an orientation in Washington, D.C. Delegates had policy meetings with Members of Congress including staff from Tim Walberg’s office. 

In Adrian the delegates will collaborate on best practices for early childhood education, including meetings and observations at Madison Elementary School, Adrian College and Lenawee Intermediate School District.

The public is welcome to attend a presentation about Azerbaijan on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m. at Lenawee District Library, 4459 W. US-223, Adrian. The delegates will discuss life and culture in Azerbaijan. There’s no cost to attend the presentation.

More than 28,000 current and future leaders from post-Soviet era countries have participated in the Open World program. Open World offers one of the most effective U.S. exchange programs to promote mutually beneficial options for depolarized engagement between future national leaders.
